Youth Mentors

Turning the Wheel Missoula just had a training with 5 local youths who will be participating in our Youth Mentorship Program this May!

Turning the Wheel Missoula’s Youth Mentorship Program will pair teen and young adult youth mentors with elementary school aged children in after-school programs.

The youth mentor’s responsibilities will be to model appropriate behavior, assist TTWM facilitators in class planning and guide students in programming that that fosters self expression, self awareness, leadership, collaboration and self regulation.

Youth mentors will learn how to utilize elements of improvisation, peer interviewing, mixed media documentation, choreography and vocalization in their teaching by working alongside TTWM facilitators in the program. And in doing so, they will reinforce these life skills for themselves.
